The Gardiner Royal Spritz Recipe

Ingredients (per serving):

  • 50 ml British London Dry gin (we love Portsmouth Gin or Dockyard Gin)

  • 25 ml British elderflower cordial (our personal favourite is Belvoir juices)

  • 50 ml Bramley apple juice, pressed in the UK

  • Top with English sparkling wine

  • Garnish: thin cucumber ribbon and a sprig of mint (preferably grown locally)

Method:

  1. In an ice-filled wine glass, add gin, elderflower cordial, and apple juice.

  2. Stir gently to chill and combine.

  3. Top with a generous pour of English sparkling wine.

  4. Finish with a cucumber ribbon and a mint sprig for a garden-fresh flourish.

Spotlight on Kent: A Garden of Vineyards & Breweries

Kent, often called the Garden of England, is a treasure trove for lovers of fine drinks. From rolling vineyards producing world-class sparkling wines to breweries with centuries of history, the county is a testament to British skill, tradition, and innovation.

For those seeking the perfect fizz to crown their Gardiner Royal Spritz, Kent offers an array of exceptional vineyards. Brissenden Vineyard, nestled in the heart of the county, produces small-batch English wines that capture the essence of their rural surroundings. Estates like Chapel Down, and Gusbourne are celebrated for their crisp, award-winning sparkling wines, made from grapes grown in Kent’s chalky soils. Boutique producers such as Simpsons Wine Estate, Biddenden, and Yotes Court each bring their own distinct character to the table, offering everything from aromatic still wines to classic sparkling blends.

It’s not just wine that shines here. Kent is also home to an impressive brewing tradition.

Shepherd Neame in Faversham proudly holds the title of Britain’s oldest brewer, while modern innovators like Curious Brewery in Ashford bring fresh ideas to the craft beer scene. Smaller, heritage-focused breweries such as Westerham, Goachers, and Larkins keep traditional Kentish ale styles alive, often using local hops grown within the county.

The Gardiner Royal Spritz showcases the very best of British produce, from Kentish gin and elderflower to crisp apple juice and award-winning English sparkling wine. Each ingredient is carefully chosen to celebrate the flavours and craftsmanship of our local producers. If you’re ready to elevate your at-home cocktail making, get in touch with us
