Nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, this new-build farmhouse-style home presented the perfect canvas for a family looking to create a space that was both refined and practical. With children, pets and a love for entertaining all influencing the brief, the homeowners turned to Gardiner of England to design a modern shaker kitchen that combined function, durability and impact in one complete package.

Bold, Balanced and Built for Family Life

From the beginning, the homeowners knew they wanted a modern shaker kitchen that made a statement, but one that would also feel timeless and grounded. Working with our Headcorn-based Design Team, they opted for our best-selling Bethersden 5-piece shaker doors, in paint-to-order Carbon, a striking dark hue that gives the space a sense of presence and depth.

To keep things light and elegant, we paired the dark cabinetry with Dekton worktops - a crisp white surface with gentle veining that adds just the right touch of softness and contrast. Underfoot, a herringbone wood floor adds natural texture and a welcoming warmth that ties the whole scheme together.

Rather than disrupt the clean lines with a traditional extractor, a ceiling-mounted plinth was fitted to house the fan - an elegant solution that kept the focus on the show-stopping island and retained the open-plan flow of the space.

The Coffee Station everyone's been talking about

One of the most-loved features of this kitchen is the integrated coffee station, cleverly hidden behind half-height cabinet doors.

Inside, custom shelving and in-cabinet lighting make it the perfect spot for storing mugs, machines, and ingredients, while also allowing the homeowners to close it all away when not in use. This solution is ideal for busy homes where functionality matters just as much as style. It's details like these that transform everyday routines into something special.

Designed for real homes (with real life in mind)

With children and dogs in the home, the kitchen needed to work hard. All of our cabinetry is made here in the UK and built to withstand the wear and tear of everyday life, without compromising on style.

The appliances, from BOSCH and Haier, were selected for their sleek appearance and reliability. Smart internal features and seamless integration keep the kitchen looking polished and modern, even during the busiest of family mornings.
