Nestled within a newly built, farmhouse-style property in the Kent countryside, this Gardiner of England kitchen combines timeless British craftsmanship with bold contemporary choices.
Created for a busy family with children and dogs, the space needed to deliver on aesthetics, functionality and long-term durability — and that’s exactly what it does.
A BOLD STATEMENT
The client’s brief was clear: design a high-performance kitchen that felt refined and sophisticated, while also being easy to live in. Their love of striking contrasts led to the selection of our Bethersden 5-piece shaker cabinetry in paint-to-order Carbon, paired beautifully with bright white quartz surfaces for dramatic contrast and balance.
From the moment you enter the space, the monochromatic palette, natural textures and seamless flow create a kitchen that feels as premium as it is practical.
A SPOTLIGHT COFFEE STATION
A standout feature of this project, and one that generated overwhelming praise on social media, is the integrated coffee station. Hidden behind bi-fold cabinet doors and finished with the same Calacatta worktop as the main kitchen, the station is designed to hold a full suite of coffee-making tools and accessories.
Not only does it elevate daily rituals for the homeowner, it also helps keep clutter off the counters. When not in use, everything can be concealed behind elegant cabinetry, maintaining the clean lines and peaceful aesthetic of the space.
THOSE FINISHING TOUCHES
The project also includes:

A ceiling-integrated extractor fan, which eliminates the need for a traditional hood and keeps sightlines open — perfect for the large, light-filled layout.

Herringbone wood flooring, which grounds the entire space in warmth and adds traditional charm to the modern contrast.

Handle finishes in aged brass for added depth and character.
The result is a family kitchen that balances function and form — a space that welcomes everything from casual weekday breakfasts to large-scale entertaining.

Following the completion of this project, the homeowner’s in-laws fell in love with the kitchen and have since commissioned a similar design for their own home — also designed and crafted by Gardiner of England. A full case study of this upcoming project will be shared shortly.
